Job Description

This is a challenging and rewarding nursing role that requires strong clinical skills, communication skills, and a patient-centred approach. As a registered nurse in the Alasdair Macdonald Acute Medical Unit (AMU), you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to patients with acute medical conditions.

The unit has a 25-bed capacity and focuses on providing safe, quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients, families, and other health professionals. The team fosters a supportive and inclusive environment for learning, professional development, and career growth.

You will be responsible for providing individualized care to patients, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve positive patient outcomes. You will also contribute to maintaining a safe work environment, adhering to relevant policies and procedures, and practising in accordance with NMBA codes and guidelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Possession of a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Adherence to relevant policies and procedures
