Clinical Nurse Specialist - Out of Home Care (530081d)

Department of Health, Tasmania is seeking qualified Clinical Nurse Specialists for CYMHS Out of Home Care Team (530081d) in the North of Tasmania. Note: these positions are also being advertised as Allied Health Professionals (530081) in the North and will be filled on merit. Three positions are available in the North, based in Launceston CBD.

Overview

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide clinical services to young people and their families/significant others experiencing mental health concerns. You would be working within a well-supported, innovative, diverse multidisciplinary team to provide developmentally appropriate treatment with young people and their families. The role includes complex case management, assessment, counselling and/or therapy, and working within mental health or related sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Be part of a dynamic and well-supported team committed to delivering high quality mental health services to young people and their families/carers.
  • Provide clinical services through complex case management, assessment, and individual therapies, including development and implementation of specialised treatment programs.
  • Collaborate with team leaders and consultant psychiatrists to develop new youth mental health services in Tasmania.
  • Lead and work with a diverse multidisciplinary team, providing support and consultation to other team members as required.
  • Incorporate evidence-based, developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions (e.g., CBT, DBT, Family Therapy, ACT) where training has been undertaken.
Qualifications and Eligibility
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification (or equivalent pathway prior to hospital education transfer).
  • Current registration with a relevant professional board and, where applicable, Working with Children Registration.
  • Current and valid registrations/licences required for the role; status may be checked during employment.
  • Desirable: postgraduate experience in CAMHS; minimum 3 years post-graduate experience in child, adolescent and/or youth mental health or related field; current Driver's Licence.
What We Offer

Three permanent full-time day worker positions (76 hours per fortnight) commencing as soon as possible. A relocation package and visa support may be available for successful applicants. Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum plus employer superannuation (12%). Salary packaging options and various allowances may apply.
