Overview

Tasmania Eating Disorder Service (TEDS) is a statewide program delivering integrated specialist care for adults with eating disorders, including Community-Based Intensive Treatment (CBIT) programs and a Residential Recovery Program (RRP).

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant – Clinical Lead - TEDS (528724L1) for the South region. The position will also be advertised for an Allied Health Professional (528724L1d) and filled on a merit basis. This role is part time/ Fixed term, day worker, with hours up to 45.6 per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 4 August 2026.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata) + employer superannuation (12%). Salary range aligned with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Post-Graduate Allowance up to 10% may be available based on qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversee day-to-day operations of TEDS South, enabling the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
  • Lead the development and management of a multidisciplinary team delivering specialist community-based intensive treatment for adults with eating disorders.
  • Ensure optimal clinical processes and patient outcomes; manage human and physical resources effectively.
  • Lead change and service development initiatives statewide and regionally, including model of care development and the implementation of relevant policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Enhance consumer and carer participation in all service levels, including quality, safety, improvement activities and co-design initiatives.
  • Facilitate the implementation of the current Mental Health Service Strategic Plan and maintain collaborations with key stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia; specialist mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification (or equivalent hospital-based program leading to registration) in Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
  • Current Working with Children Registration.
  • Desirable: minimum 3 years post-graduate experience in mental health; interest/experience in eating disorders; clinical and professional supervision experience; Eating Disorder Credentialled practitioner; current Driver's Licence.
