Job Overview

The role of Senior Payroll Officer is pivotal in delivering accurate, efficient and compliant payroll services. This is a hands-on position that involves managing the full payroll cycle from start to finish.

  • Responsibilities include interpreting time and attendance data and finalising payroll systems.
  • This individual will oversee complex payroll processes, ensure compliance with legislative requirements and take ownership of end-of-month reporting and reconciliations.
  • They will also provide expert guidance and support to payroll team members and leaders.
  • Additionally, this person will be responsible for driving efficiency and accuracy through system upgrades, process improvements and payroll-related projects.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum 5 years' experience in managing end-to-end payroll operations within a medium to large organisation.
  • A strong working knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in payroll system finalisation, banking processes, payroll clearing and STP reporting/reconciliation.
  • Experience with time and attendance (T&A) data integration, interpretation and end-of-month processes.
