Site Operations Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Site Operations Manager to lead onsite operations monitoring the delivery, installation, commissioning and integration of our energy storage systems. This role requires effective WHSE practices, a strong technical understanding of electrical commissioning works, and a focus on quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate electrical commissioning teams to ensure efficient and smooth operations.
  • Oversee the installation of electrical systems, including battery storage units and Power Conversion Systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to minimise downtime.
  • Manage electrical sub-contractors and internal commissioning engineers, ensuring they comply with site and company policies.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to onsite teams, fostering a culture of safety, quality and collaboration.
  • Attend Principal Contractors Supervisor meetings, toolbox talks and relay information to site staff, sub-contractors and management.
  • Daily reporting of all site activities to management.
  • Project tracking to ensure the project schedule is met.
  • Oversee and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure reliability and optimal performance of electrical systems.
  • Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs to reduce system failures and extend equipment lifespan.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Electrical trade qualification or degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in electrical supervision, preferably in renewable energy or battery storage.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical standards, safety standards, and renewable energy systems.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance principles and reporting systems.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
