Cardinia Shire Council is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to lead our Building Services team. As a key member of our organisation, you will play a vital role in shaping safe and compliant built environments.

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve building compliance and safety standards.

  • Lead and mentor a dynamic team of inspectors and cadets, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct commercial audits, essential safety measures inspections, and cladding compliance checks to ensure legislative compliance and excellence in service delivery.

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on complex building compliance matters, leveraging your knowledge of the Building Act 1993 and associated legislation.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive process improvements and modernise workflows across the Building Services team.


Requirements:

  • Registration as a Building Surveyor.

  • Proven experience in plan checking and mandatory inspections for residential and commercial buildings.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.

  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities in a supervisory role.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage complex customer interactions.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound, informed decisions.
