We are seeking a highly skilled General Practitioner to join our team of healthcare professionals.

As a General Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards and Defence policies.

  • You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve the shared purpose of maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
  • You will assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide care that supports their health and wellbeing pre and post deployments.
  • You will provide medical technical advice to senior leaders and colleagues.
About Our Healthcare Services

We provide integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.

This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across various locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.

About Our Healthcare Centre

Our healthcare centre is located at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia.

The facility provides primary medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8000 members.

The standard operating hours of the centre are generally Monday – Friday.

Your Role as a General Practitioner

You are an experienced medical professional with solid foundations as a General Practitioner.

Your passion for providing high-quality medical services is at the heart of everything you do.

You have a friendly and professional manner which automatically puts patients at ease and you take pride in your ability to inspire trust from both your patients and colleagues alike.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • High levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
