Business Development Manager, Produce

CHEP, a leading provider of supply chain solutions, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Sales and Customer Solutions team, you will be responsible for growing the produce channel revenue with new customers and new platforms with existing customers in your assigned location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expand the Customer Base: Engage with potential clients through cold calling, industry research, and networking at events to understand market trends and customer needs.
- Manage the Sales Funnel: Use Salesforce to track opportunities, review progress monthly, and follow up on leads from our partnerships and marketing efforts.
- Extend the Current Offering: Meet with key decision-makers, understand their requirements, and propose solutions that highlight the advantages of CHEP's products.
- Innovate and Grow: Explore new markets and applications for our products, driving growth through innovative supply chain solutions.
Requirements:
- A completed, relevant tertiary qualification in supply chain, agriculture/produce, or business is ideal, not essential.
- Solid working history in a sales/customer-facing role, ideally within fresh produce.
- Ability to engage customers to accurately identify business needs/problems to solve.
- Ability to close deals quickly and effectively with win/win outcomes.
- Ability to engage with senior decision-makers and business owners, building trusted partnerships.
- Basic computer literacy – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Salesforce.
- Solid commercial acumen.
- Ability to articulate the features & benefits of a product and service.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently to achieve results.
