Job Title: Professional Legal Advisor

The role of a Professional Legal Advisor involves providing expert guidance to legal practitioners on their regulatory obligations and ethical standards. This position requires strong knowledge of anti-money laundering legislation, counter terrorism financing regulations, and other relevant laws.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing web-based information services related to regulatory compliance, ethics, and costs. Your ability to provide effective communication and clear explanations will be essential in ensuring that practitioners understand their obligations and can navigate complex regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance to legal practitioners on AML/CTF regime, ethical and regulatory obligations under the Legal Profession Uniform Law.
  • Work with the Professional Support Unit to deliver specific guidance to practitioners on their obligations under AML/CTF legislation.
  • Manage content of web-based information services relating to regulatory compliance, ethics, and costs.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in law and current practicing certificate.
  • Practice experience and sound knowledge in regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering legislation or policy principles.
  • Good public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective, clear, and concise communication.
