As a Senior Mechanical Engineer on our Data Center Capacity team at Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for providing expert-level mechanical engineering support to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our global data centers. This role is perfect for an experienced engineer who wants to work on high-profile projects and contribute to the growth of AWS.

About the Role

  • You will provide technical guidance and expertise on all aspects of data center mechanical systems, including cooling, power distribution, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as operations, commissioning, and design, to identify and resolve issues that impact data center capacity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with vendors to review and implement new data center designs, ensuring compliance with AWS standards and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to data center mechanical engineering.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and ensure that all data center mechanical systems meet or exceed these standards.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of cumulative experience in industrial or commercial engineering, preferably in mission-critical facilities like data centers, power generation, or oil/gas facilities.
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
  • Familiarity with continuous operating redundant electrical systems, cooling systems, air flow containment systems, and building management systems.
  • Ability to carry design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/mass production.
