Job Description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company that aims to revolutionize U.S. and allied military capabilities by leveraging cutting-edge technology. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Anduril, you will be part of a team that designs, develops, and delivers advanced systems for the military.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex mechanical systems for robotic platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with software and electronics.
  • Perform structural, modal, and dynamic analyses on critical mechanical systems.
  • Develop and implement design solutions that balance end-user needs with external constraints and requirements.
  • Contribute to the design and development of technology components across Anduril, with a focus on reusability and scalability.
  • Support the development of development processes for complex robotic systems, including testing, monitoring, and operation.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to co-locate with end-users, vendors, or the integration and test team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Professional experience working as a Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineer with expertise in multiple domains and/or technologies.
  • Capacity to work holistically on complex robotic systems across design, implementation, operation, and sustainment.
  • Capacity to act as the technical contributor for a complex subsystem, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Capacity to learn and grow individually, building team cohesion and capacity.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the design, implementation, and support of robotic and/or autonomous systems.
  • Experience working within the defense, maritime, and/or aerospace domains.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and Teamcenter.
  • Experience with finite element analysis of complex structural assemblies, including aluminum and composite structures.
  • Experience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, composites, and/or additive manufacturing.
  • Experience within the product delivery lifecycle, including manufacturing, system acceptance, deployment, and sustainment.
  • Desire to learn and grow into other roles that require experience as a Mechanical Engineer, such as Senior Mechanical or Systems Engineer.
