Production Planning Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Production Planning Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and managing our Production Planning system and processes, ensuring product supply meets customer service delivery goals.

  • Create and maintain master data, such as BOMs, Routings, Scrap Factors, Order Policies, Lead Times, Lot Sizes.
  • Establish production, capacity, and inventory planning process & reporting.
  • Undertake testing and GMP validation of the SysPro Planning system.
  • Maintain the demand & supply plan within the SysPro Planning system.
  • Coordinate daily operational production planning activity to drive the MPS/MRP to meet set inventory targets.
  • Assist in the planning aspect of new product development and enhancements.
  • Monitor production plan vs actual status and ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct/attend daily meetings to keep track of production schedules.
  • Assist in production risk assessment and mitigation activities.
  • Management of slow and obsolete stock, ensuring all inventory is accounted for and provided for as applicable.
  • Inventory Management to support site targets of inventory.
  • Resolve production issues and escalate unresolved issues to management promptly.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering, Commerce or a related discipline with at least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment in a similar position. APICS certification is a must. Knowledge of Australian Code of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Applicable Standard Operating Procedures, Safety and Security procedures, Productivity and lean operations is an added advantage.
