Electrical Assessment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Assessment Specialist to join our team at Melbourne Polytechnic. As an Electrical Assessment Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting assessments in accordance with established procedures and ensuring that candidates are monitored during the assessment.
This is a casual role working on an hourly rate of $82.00 - $88.59 per hour, plus superannuation. You will be based at our Heidelberg campus, which offers easy access to public transport and parking facilities.

About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a current A Grade Electrical License and a minimum of Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. They will also have recent industry experience and strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and quietly within an assessment environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting the Licensed Electrical Assessment following established procedures;
- Ensuring candidates are monitored during the assessment;
- Adhering to Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) and Melbourne Polytechnic (MP) compliance requirements;
- Setting up assessment rooms prior to the assessment and verifying the candidate's identity and eligibility to sit the assessment;
- Distributing and collecting completed assessment papers;
You will work closely with our Short Courses team to ensure compliance is maintained and will be required to set up the assessment room, monitor the designated area, and record and report any incidents or suspected incidents where a candidate's assessment may be compromised.
Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current A Grade Electrical License;
- A current Working with Children Check Card (Employee);
- A minimum of Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment and recent industry experience;
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and quietly within an assessment environment;
- Experience as an Electrical Installation Inspector is desirable;
- A basic understanding and awareness of influences and situations that may cause candidates concern and stress while completing an assessment;
- An understanding of Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) assessment guidelines;
- Knowledge of current issues in higher education and vocational education and training, particularly as they relate to the areas taught within the school (desirable).
