About the Role

The Electrical Assessment Assessor plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to candidates sitting assessments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting electrical assessments following established procedures
  • Ensuring candidate monitoring during assessments
  • Adhering to Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) and Melbourne Polytechnic (MP) compliance requirements
  • Setting up assessment rooms prior to assessments and verifying candidate identity and eligibility
  • Distributing and collecting completed assessment papers
Key Responsibilities and Duties

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Working with Short Courses to maintain compliance
  • Setting up assessment rooms
  • Monitoring designated areas to ensure candidates comply with instructions and assessment rules
  • Recording and reporting incidents or suspected incidents compromising assessments
  • Responding to enquiries in a timely and confident manner, treating students fairly and equally
  • Assisting Lead LEA Assessors as instructed
  • Maintaining secure assessment paperwork
  • Verifying student identity and confirming eligibility to sit assessments
  • Accurately distributing and collecting assessment materials
  • Conducting assessments fairly and equitably, recording student results
  • Completing assessment-related paperwork in a timely manner
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A current A Grade Electrical License
  • A current Working with Children Check Card (Employee)
  • A minimum of Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment and recent industry experience
  • Strong communication skills to convey information clearly and quietly within an assessment environment
  • Experience as an Electrical Installation Inspector is desirable
  • A basic understanding of factors influencing candidate stress and concern while completing assessments
  • An understanding of Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) assessment guidelines
  • Knowledge of current issues in higher education and vocational education and training
