About the Role:

This senior executive opportunity is available in our Social Policy and Intergovernmental Relations Group within the Cabinet Office.

As a Senior Policy Strategist, you will be at the forefront of shaping major policy strategies and leading whole-of-government projects.

You will join us in driving policy reforms that align with government priorities, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of citizens.

This role is responsible for a range of social policy areas including justice, policing and corrections policy, families, child protection, domestic and family violence and disability policy, as well as a range of contributions to State and national whole of government and society reforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with agencies across government to deliver major policy reform
  • Make a significant contribution to the outcomes of the NSW Budget
  • Broker outcomes on high-profile and contentious policy areas
  • Engage with stakeholders to provide advice in a dynamic policy environment

What You'll Need:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Eager to make a difference to the communities of NSW
  • Extensive experience leading the delivery of policy reforms, resolving policy conflicts, and executing complex strategies
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to consult, seek input, and build consensus on key policy decisions
  • Navigate and influence senior stakeholders across various government agencies
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • Deliver outcomes in the public sector context, including Cabinet, budget and legislative processes
  • Lead a Branch with innovation, adaptability, self-motivation, and flexibility
  • Rubust analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Commit to the highest levels of ethical behaviour and integrity

Benefits:

We offer a total remuneration package of $250,000 - $350,000 per annum, negotiable upon offer, depending on experience and qualifications.
