Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Technical Content Developer to create high-quality documentation for mobile equipment maintenance practices.

The successful candidate will produce accurate, user-friendly technical content including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safe Work Instructions (SWIs), and other supporting materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, write, and edit SOPs, SWIs, and other maintenance documentation for mobile fleet operations
  • Capture process steps, safety controls, tools, and best practices with technical experts
  • Review and revise documentation after incidents, engineering changes, or process updates
  • Format documents using standard templates to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance
  • Maintain document control, version history, approval workflows, and metadata in accordance with industry standards
  • Align documentation with risk assessments, isolation procedures, and legislative requirements
  • Create user-friendly guides, graphics, and quick-reference tools to support training and competency programs
  • Participate in team meetings and rollout sessions to ensure practical adoption of procedures
  • Support audit preparation by providing document control evidence and compliance traceability

About You:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Technical Writing, Communications, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in technical writing and documentation in mining, heavy industry, or engineering environments
  • Understanding of statutory and OEM documentation requirements (AS/NZS ISO standards)
  • Knowledge of mobile equipment maintenance practices (CAT, Komatsu, Liebherr preferred)
  • Experience with document control systems (e.g. SharePoint) and CMMS platforms (e.g. AMT)
  • Current driver's licence

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical information
  • Familiarity with isolation procedures, risk controls, and permit systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong collaboration skills — able to work effectively with tradespeople, engineers, and trainers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and visual content creation tools (e.g. Visio, Canva)
  • High attention to detail with a focus on safety and usability
