Senior Safety Specialist

At Haylo People, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Development team, you will collaborate with Principal Contractors to manage project risks, ensure safety compliance, and drive continuous improvement across various construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Risk Management: Identify and update project risks, maintain Major Hazard Risk Registers, and escalate concerns to Development Managers or HSE Directors. Support Safety in Design workshops.
- Assurance: Develop and execute Project Assurance Plans, conduct HSE inspections and audits, and review contractor safety systems and SWMS using Hammertech.
- Incident Management: Ensure timely reporting, investigation, and management of incidents, and contribute to a learning culture by developing HSE Alerts and Lessons Learned.
- Environmental Compliance: Review contractor compliance with environmental conditions and constraints.
- WHS Systems: Assist in developing WHS Management Plans and fulfilling contractual HSE obligations.
- Reporting & Governance: Manage HSE reporting, including monthly performance reports and participation in PCG forums.
- Coaching & Improvement Projects: Coach teams on HSE best practices and support the implementation of improvement initiatives.
Technical Skills/Experience Required:
- Civil, residential, and high-rise construction experience.
- Expertise in mobile plant operations, lifting, and risk management.
- Incident investigation skills.
- Preferred experience in demolition, rail infrastructure, and Safety in Design workshops.
This role includes attendance at weekly HSE team meetings and supporting various administrative duties.
