Senior Mental Health Leader

We are seeking a passionate and experienced mental health clinician to lead our new Crisis Support Space (CSS) as part of a state-wide initiative to transform how we respond to mental distress and suicidal ideation.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of mental health reform, supporting individuals in crisis while collaborating across emergency and community services.

About the Role
  • Provide clinical oversight and risk management within the CSS.
  • Support and mentor Peer Workers and non-clinical staff.
  • Deliver basic mental health triage and ensure appropriate referrals for clinical care.
  • Collaborate closely with the Emergency Department, Acute Care Team, and other services to ensure continuity of care.
  • Foster strong relationships with service providers to enhance referral pathways and treatment access.
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment that upholds the dignity and well-being of consumers and carers.
  • Lead quality improvement and research initiatives to evaluate and evolve the service.

Requirements

  • Four-year Psychology degree (Honours or Graduate Diploma) and registration with AHPRA.
  • Highly regarded postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Psychology (Masters or Doctorate), or significant progress toward completion.
  • Appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016, or a demonstrated commitment to completing the requirements for appointment.
