Job Description:

The role of a Secondary Sports and Recreation Teacher involves delivering VET Sport and Recreation Curriculum, focusing on practical skills and industry knowledge. This includes leading physical activities, fitness testing, first aid, event setup, and coaching exercises aligned with real-world sport and recreation roles.

  • Deliver VET Sport and Recreation Curriculum to students, emphasizing hands-on skills and industry knowledge.
  • Lead various physical activities, such as fitness testing, first aid, event setup, and coaching exercises that align with real-world sport and recreation roles.
  • Embed teamwork, communication, leadership, and customer service skills in students to prepare them for work in gyms, community programs, or sporting organisations.
  • Conduct and record assessments according to VCAA and RTO standards, ensuring students meet all unit outcomes.
  • Guide students in organizing school-based sporting events, applying risk management and planning principles.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • VET Sport and Recreation Curriculum delivery expertise.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to conduct assessments and record student progress.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • First aid and emergency response training.
  • Risk management and event planning experience.
