Job Overview

This position sits within the Outreach Cluster, aiming to enhance the health and wellbeing of individuals who use alcohol and other drugs.

  • Deliver harm reduction services to at-risk individuals through outreach programs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans
  • Support clients in achieving their goals and improving overall health outcomes

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide harm reduction education, advocacy, referral, and equipment to clients
  • Assess overdose risk using safe strategies and work with intoxicated consumers
  • Offer secondary consultations to staff as required and assist in developing strategies for complex client needs

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum Certificate IV (Alcohol and Other Drugs) or equivalent tertiary studies in Community Development, Social Work etc
  • Lived experience highly regarded
  • Sound knowledge of health and social issues affecting people who use substances and sleep rough
  • A commitment to harm reduction principles and recovery-oriented practices
