Job Overview

The successful Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing construction projects, ensuring timely completion and delivering exceptional results.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish project budgets and contract prices effectively
  • Negotiate cost-effective subcontract and material purchases
  • Implement efficient job procedures to ensure timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery
  • Maintain project schedules
  • Develop strong relationships with Owners, Architects, and Subcontractors
  • Collaborate with Superintendents to develop safety plans and implement safety procedures
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting to management
  • Lead and train project teams according to Company policy
  • Organize regular meetings for management and subcontractors
  • Review contract conditions and ensure compliance with all contract terms
  • Supervise documentation of significant project events
  • Direct preconstruction services and activities
  • Negotiate and prepare subcontract bid packages
  • Support business development and participate in job interviews
  • Ensure quality control and integrity of completed projects
  • Avoid or mitigate claims and conflict
  • Complete all job close-out procedures
  • Conduct warranty follow-up (1-year warranty walks)
  • Complete projects with full or enhanced fee

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree or equivalent experience
  • Field construction management experience (5-8 years, including supervisory skills)
  • Problem-solving ability and strong sense of urgency
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Drafting and computer skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
  • Thorough understanding of project management control systems
