Overview

Optomi, in partnership with one of the nation's leading electric power holding companies—serving millions of customers while driving cleaner energy solutions through renewable power and grid modernization—seeks a senior-level developer with a strong frontend focus and backend experience.

In this role, you'll help design, build, and scale applications that directly impact customers. The position will be approximately 70% frontend development and 30% backend development, with a primary emphasis on Angular and AWS serverless technologies. The ideal candidate is self-driven, eager to learn, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain customer-facing applications with a strong emphasis on Angular.
  • Build and integrate backend services using AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB).
  • Contribute to backend/API development, leveraging Python, Kafka, or API frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD improvements as we transition to GitHub Actions.
  • Support infrastructure as code initiatives using Terraform (and Terraform Enterprise).
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve application performance, security, and scalability.
Experience
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong expertise in Angular and frontend development best practices.
  • Solid experience with AWS serverless services (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB).
  • Familiarity with backend development in Python, API design, or Kafka.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of being a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative culture.
  • Experience with GitHub / GitHub Actions.
  • Knowledge of Terraform and Terraform Enterprise.
