About the Role

The Queensland Fire & Emergency Services is seeking an experienced Executive Officer to provide high-level administrative support to the Assistant Commissioner. As a key member of the regional team, you will be responsible for managing the work program, ensuring the effective dissemination of information, and achieving work priorities and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work Program Management: Develop and implement work programs to ensure the smooth operation of the Assistant Commissioner's office and administrative functions.
  • Correspondence and Reporting: Prepare high-quality correspondence, reports, submissions, presentations, and speeches as required.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and emergency services organizations.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Contribute to the development and management of the budget and human resources issues, ensuring effective use of resources and achieving business objectives.
  • Meeting and Committee Support: Provide secretariat support to meetings and committees, preparing agendas, recording and circulating minutes, and following up on actions and outcomes.
  • Research and Analysis: Identify and research issues impacting on the region's responsibilities, initiating work priorities and timely action to support business operations.
  • Representation and Advocacy: Represent and promote the interests of the region at internal and external meetings and forums, negotiating agreed outcomes as required.
  • Project Management: Undertake projects on a diverse range of issues, providing advice and options to solve problems and issues impacting on regional business.
