About the Role

SYC is seeking a dedicated Employment Coach to join our team in Watergardens. As an Employment Coach, you will actively engage with participants to overcome career challenges, develop essential skills, and achieve their employment goals.

You will be part of a supportive and result-driven team who are dedicated to our vision of well-being, independence, and opportunity for everyone. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one coaching sessions to participants, assessing their career needs, and creating personalized action plans.
  • Conducting career assessments and helping clients identify their strengths, interests, and values to guide their employment goals.
  • Using sales strategies to work collaboratively and network with community organizations to create opportunities for participants.
  • Assisting participants in developing effective job search strategies, including resume writing and interview preparation.
  • Referring participants through training, counseling, and other services to increase long-term employment outcomes.
  • Ensuring compliance requirements are met.
About You

We are looking for someone who enjoys working autonomously within a broader team environment, is enthusiastic, empathetic, and dedicated to making a difference in people's lives. The successful candidate will have experience in administration, strong attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines and outlined KPI targets, and the ability to work in an agile environment. Key requirements include:

  • Experience in customer service, client-facing, or an administrative role.
  • Time management, organizational skills, and the ability to plan and prioritize to achieve outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills with well-developed verbal and written skills, and the ability to conduct client assessments, develop case plans, and case notes and reports.
  • Interpersonal conflict resolution and negotiation skills, along with the ability to identify innovative and lateral solutions to problems.
  • Ability to develop relationships with employers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Excellent computer skills.
