We are seeking an experienced commercial lawyer to join our legal team based in Melbourne. As a trusted advisor and partner to Australia Post and its subsidiary companies, you will contribute towards our commercial success through the provision of legal services on a diverse range of projects and matters.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver smart, commercial advice and drafting and negotiating contracts that achieve business objectives and allocate risk in accordance with current risk appetite
- Advise the business on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues
- Identify legal issues in existing business operations and in new business initiatives
- Support the development, implementation and maintenance of legal documentation and toolkits
- Support the development, implementation and maintenance of training, policies, procedures and compliance programs to promote business understanding of legal rights and obligations and a culture of compliance
- Keep across legal and regulatory developments and anticipating emerging trends
- Optimise the value and quality of legal services from external legal resources
- More than 5 years post-admission experience, having worked at a top or mid-tier firm, or demonstrated in-house or ACCC experience
- Hold an unrestricted Australian legal practicing certificate
- Commercial acumen with excellent negotiation, drafting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to build strong relationships and effectively influence internal and external stakeholders
- Proactive lawyer with a positive attitude
- Experience with Franchise Law, Competition and Consumer Law and/or disputes would be highly regarded
