Water Safety Specialist

Lifeguards play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety of guests at aquatic locations. They are responsible for supervising and overseeing swimmers, identifying potential hazards, and acting swiftly to prevent accidents.
The primary objective is to maintain a safe environment, free from risks and threats. This entails enforcing safety rules, monitoring swimmer activities, and responding promptly to emergencies.
Lifeguards must possess excellent communication skills to provide guidance and support to guests. They should be able to convey clear instructions, empathize with concerns, and offer assistance when needed.
A lifeguard's duties extend beyond mere supervision. They must be equipped to administer first aid, perform water rescues, and use equipment effectively.
Responsibilities:- Supervise guests in aquatic areas to ensure their safety.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and provide assistance as required.
- Administer first aid and perform water rescues when necessary.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by reporting hazards and incidents.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with guests.
- Ellis & Associates Lifeguard License (this training is provided).
- Dispatch Smart Training (this training is provided).
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with aquatic environments and safety protocols.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of first aid principles and water rescue techniques.
- Desirable experience working in the Aquatics Industry.
- Shallow water Lifeguards need to be able to swim 50 metres freestyle or backstroke without resting.
- Lifeguards need to be able to pass swim 200 metres freestyle or backstroke without resting.
- All lifeguards need to be able to perform a feet-first surface dive up to 1.8 metres to retrieve a 5kg brick.
- All lifeguards need to be able to tread water without using arms for two minutes.
