Job Title: Legal CounselWe are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide high-level legal advice to Banjo's Corporation, focusing on franchising, commercial law, and employment law.
Key Responsibilities:- General legal administration, including lease and franchisee database management and ASIC portal management.
- Drafting organizational policies and procedures and maintaining the controlled document register.
- Management of high-level complaints and investigations.
- Review of various agreements, including retail/commercial leases, services agreements, franchise agreements, and supplier agreements.
- Compiling information and conducting investigations on behalf of the General Counsel.
- Providing legal advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Undertaking various audits: wage, legal, and file.
- Performing a range of legal research tasks and supporting the General Counsel.
- Demonstrated high-level written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise documentation and liaise with the General Counsel on complex matters.
- Highly developed legal research skills.
- Experience in meeting internal and external stakeholder needs in a positive and proactive manner.
- A genuine interest in the law and the legal process, ideally as it relates to leases, property, or franchise law.
- Demonstrated skills in supporting organizational change and continuous improvement in the workplace.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own pipeline of work.
- Strong understanding of how to prioritize tasks to meet both internal and external deadlines.
- Bring your own energy to the role and desire to continue your professional development.
- Superior drafting skills and the ability to communicate complex legal issues both written and verbal.
- Expertise in producing documents to a professional standard.
- Experience in property law and franchising.
