Policy Analyst Role

The Department invites applications for a Policy Analyst role in the Environment, Resources and Decarbonisation team. This is an ongoing VPS6 position that reports to the Director - Environment, Resources and Decarbonisation.

The successful candidate will provide timely and accurate advice on complex economic, financial and/or public policy issues. They will analyze, interpret and synthesize information, including quantitative data sets, to contribute to and manage projects informing policy development.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the role and influence of State government in policy making. They will utilize expertise in economics and/or public policy to build relationships, shape stakeholders' views and support informed decision-making on complex issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing timely and accurate advice on complex economic, financial and/or public policy issues
  • Analyzing, interpreting and synthesizing information, including quantitative data sets
  • Contributing to and managing projects to inform policy development
  • Communicating with and influencing internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborating within and outside the team on economic, financial and/or public policy projects
