Clinical Nurse Consultant Role in Palliative Care

Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Clinical Nurse Consultant in palliative care at our hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and leading continuous improvement projects within the Supportive & Palliative Care team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Clinical Advice: Provide expert clinical advice and consultancy in palliative and supportive care
  • Quality Improvement: Lead and participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
  • Education and Mentorship: Provide education, mentorship and clinical support to multidisciplinary teams
  • Research and Planning: Initiate and participate in clinical research, service planning and strategic initiatives

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Current Registration: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Experience: Minimum five years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with at least three years in the speciality field of palliative care, cancer care, advanced or aged care nursing
  • Qualifications: Postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field or other qualifications/experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation
