Job Summary:

The role of Freight Coordinator is pivotal in the seamless coordination of all freight negotiations and procurement operations. This position requires identifying, evaluating, and negotiating with freight providers to secure optimal rates and service levels.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop transportation procurement strategies to meet business needs and optimize costs.
  • Manage service agreements and operational procedures with freight providers, ensuring compliance with company expectations and legal requirements.
  • Provide advice on domestic freight inquiries related to road, rail, or alternate transport modes.
  • Monitor delivery requirements to conform to the company's expectations.
  • Coordinate record administration and maintenance for efficient operations.
  • Action quality issues and resolve them in the best long-term interests of the organization.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate in Supply Chain or Logistics with experience in logistics and freight environments.
  • Familiarity with CoR and Fatigue Management principles (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Load Restraint and Dangerous Goods Regulatory Handling and Storage legislation (desirable).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and report building.
  • Negotiation skills and experience in managing vendor relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and attention to detail.
