Cloud Leadership Position

This role involves strategic leadership in the establishment and maintenance of cloud-based processes, contributing to increased IT operational efficiency through effective design decisions and patterns.

The Cloud Leadership Position leads platform development activities to broaden capabilities in direct response to business demand or to enable future functionality that drives further business value.

  • Manage AWS environments and provide overarching leadership on standards, governance, and design patterns.
  • Leverage industry best practices and technological innovations to provide solutions contributing to increased IT operational efficiency.
  • Research concepts, conduct special studies, lead the development of proof-of-concepts based on Cloud technology to exploit new opportunities to optimise the effectiveness and efficiency of the IT and DevOps landscape.
  • Work collaboratively across various teams within Digital & Information Systems and champion department-wide solutions and processes with individual groups.
  • Provide technical leadership for proposed and in-flight deliveries ensuring the right resources, patterns, solutions, and risk mitigations are in place.
  • Collaborate with extended technology teams to share successes, failures, and opportunities and participate and contribute to existing technical forums.
Requirements

  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing, and management skills developed within a complex operational environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organisation, articulating key propositions in an easy-to-consume manner.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing 3rd party vendors and contract negotiations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across virtual and regionally dispersed teams to achieve outcomes, deadlines, and business value.
  • Design, build, and deployment of automation solutions in a public cloud environment such as AWS, Azure, or GCP with a strong preference towards current AWS experience.
  • Bachelor/Master's Degree in Business or IT, or similar.
