Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Financial Operations Strategist to join our team. This is a high-impact role that combines financial acumen with cloud technology expertise.

As a Cloud Financial Operations Strategist, you will be responsible for optimising our cloud financial operations across platforms such as AWS and Azure.

You will work closely with Technology, Finance, and business teams to ensure financial transparency, accurate forecasting, and cost-effective cloud practices.

This is a strategic role that requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimise cloud spend through continuous analysis, right-sizing, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Forecast and report cloud costs, providing insightful dashboards and regular briefings to stakeholders.
  • Design and implement FinOps strategies, policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Educate and engage teams on cost-awareness and cloud spend accountability.
  • Leverage tools like AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Cloudability, and Power BI for reporting and automation.
  • Collaborate across the business to embed FinOps into projects from inception to delivery.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • FinOps Practitioner certification (Certified Professional highly regarded).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and native/third-party FinOps tools.
  • Strong data analysis skills using SQL, Excel, and BI tools like PowerBI.
