Intervention Planning Leader

We are seeking an experienced Intervention Planning Leader to join our Advanced Operational Resilience team. As a key member of our Operations and Maintenance Planning Group, you will be responsible for optimizing the performance of our water and wastewater networks, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction for over 600,000 properties and 1.3 million customers in our service regions.
The Intervention Planning process delivers plans to manage safety and service risk, ensuring work on the network occurs at the right time, first time without impact to safety or service. This approach safeguards safety, public health, and the environment while providing a positive customer experience, reducing long-term costs, and ensuring compliance with regulations and safe drinking water standards.
Key Responsibilities- Motivate the team and set clear performance expectations.
- Cultivate a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Leverage and expand knowledge to enhance performance.
- Manage processes for timely, quality inputs and outputs.
- Expand the use of systems, technology, and automation.
- Continuously improve knowledge, processes, and technology.
- Coach, train, and develop team members.
- Relevant degree in engineering.
- Experience or qualifications in Lean Six Sigma, production management, or water & sewer network engineering in an operation environment.
- Proven track record in team/functional continuous improvement.
- Ability to understand the technical aspects of operating a water utility and associated regulatory obligations.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical topics into corporate terms.
- Capacity to manage and shift priorities to support changing business needs.
- Knowledge and experience with data analysis, visualization, and science tools.
- Proven ability to build strong client and customer relationships.
- Passion for leadership with experience in coaching and mentoring team members.
- Ability to foster a transparent, accountable, and high-performance culture in line with organisational values.
