Leadership Opportunity in Rural Health and Education

A key opportunity for a senior medical practitioner with leadership experience in academia or the health sector and a demonstrated commitment to rural health and education is available.

About the Opportunity
  • The Faculty of Medicine and Health is seeking to appoint a senior medical practitioner who is an experienced leader in health and/or academia with a demonstrated commitment to rural health and education as the new Head of the Rural Clinical School.
  • The position incorporates leadership of the clinical school and oversight of academic activities including delivery of the medical program at Dubbo and Orange.
About You
  • To be successful, you will need:
  • experience in people leadership and management within the higher education sector and/or health sector;
  • a strong commitment to rural health and rural health workforce education;
  • successful management of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders that can be leveraged to enhance the standing of the clinical school, faculty and University; and
  • demonstrated experience in financial management and operational management practices.
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant academic field or equivalent qualification/experience; and
  • an excellent academic track record and international reputation in your field.
Term and Remuneration
  • Fixed-term appointment for 5 years subject to completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees;
  • opportunity for further appointments subject to performance and funding;
  • competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.
