Rural Health Medical Director Opportunity

The University of Sydney invites applications for the position of Medical Director, Rural Health. The successful candidate will lead a clinical school and oversee academic activities in rural areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of medical professionals to deliver healthcare services in rural areas.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the standing of the clinical school, faculty, and University.
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local communities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Federal and State Governments, and other higher education providers.
Requirements:
  • Be registered or eligible for registration in NSW as a medical practitioner.
  • Have experience in people leadership and management within the higher education sector and/or health sector.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to rural health and rural health workforce education.
  • Demonstrate successful management of relationships with key academic, industry, and professional institutions, partners, and stakeholders.
Benefits:

The successful candidate will be offered a 5-year fixed-term appointment, subject to completion of a satisfactory probation period. A competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications will be offered.
