Claims Professional Lead

Oversee complex liability and professional indemnity claims, providing strategic guidance on policy interpretation, litigation, and claim resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end claims across class actions, cluster claims, and high-value exposures
  • Offer expert advice on policy interpretation, litigation, and claim resolution to internal teams and external partners
  • Collaborate with internal legal teams, panel firms, and counsel to navigate complex legal landscapes
  • Represent the organization at mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings as required
  • Develop and mentor junior team members in specialty claims management
  • Establish governance frameworks and reporting for emerging risks and financial impacts
  • Promote alignment of claims strategies across internal stakeholders and contribute to process improvements
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, business, or insurance (mandatory)
  • Industry qualifications such as Diploma in Financial Services (mandatory)
  • 5–10 years' experience managing complex liability or professional indemnity claims
  • Litigation experience, including briefing panel firms or direct involvement (mandatory)
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Experience mentoring and developing team members
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and claims systems
