Support Youth Development in a Therapeutic Environment

Our organization offers family-centered support services, including residential out-of-home care, respite care, and in-home support to children and young people aged between 5 and 17.

Our rural properties provide a unique setting for our daily programs, incorporating animals and engagement with nature to promote emotional healing and growth.

We prioritize connection and engagement over technology use within our homes, fostering a supportive environment that encourages young people and their families to heal and move forward.

About the Role

As a Team Member, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people living in Residential Out-of-Home Care at our therapeutic, rural properties. We focus on a technology-reduced model of care, prioritizing human connection and relationship-building.

Your key responsibilities will include engaging with and supporting children and young people who exhibit challenging behaviors, helping them achieve their social, educational, cultural, and emotional goals.

Daily Tasks
  • Providing hands-on support in teaching life skills to our young people, such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, completing homework, personal care, booking and attending appointments, participating in sports, and engaging in schooling
  • Developing support documentation, including Positive Behaviour Support Plans and progress reports
  • Assessing and supporting the developmental progress of our young people
  • Liaising with and reporting to stakeholders to share information, contribute to planning, and ensure desired outcomes are achieved
  • Creating activity plans and facilitating community engagement for the young person
  • Safely supporting behaviors using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques
