The role of a skilled Panel Beater is crucial in restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition. This involves precise disassembly, identification of broken parts, and accurate repair methods.
As a Panel Beater, you will work with various materials, including metals, woods, and plastics. Your attention to detail and ability to follow instructions are essential in this role.
Key responsibilities include checking received parts for defects, labeling and storing parts correctly, notating broken parts, and submitting them to the Estimator as required.
In addition, you will check new parts for accuracy and damage, communicate any defects to the Parts Manager/Production Manager, colour match and mix vehicles, build and maintain a colour library, prep, prime, and paint vehicles according to Job Sheet requirements.
Other duties include buffing and denibbing vehicles, repairing them according to the Repair Method and OEM standards, reassembling vehicles, handling all vehicles with care, cleaning workbays and workshop areas, coaching apprentices when required, and ensuring company tools and equipment remain safe, clean, and functional.
