Job Title: Educational Leadership

The Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School (VCASS) is a specialist program for talented young dancers, musicians, theatre and visual artists.

Students develop a passion for learning and respect for themselves and others in this dynamic educational environment with facilities at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).

A key part of VCASS's model is its extended hours operation with regular classes between 8am-5:30pm Monday-Friday. This has required staff to adjust their work schedules accordingly.

We are seeking an experienced leader to manage improvements in teaching and learning, coordinate staff, and contribute to policy development relating to teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum.
  • Leading and managing the implementation of school priorities and teaching literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum.
  • Planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies responding to student learning needs.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student learning and using data to lead improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting colleagues in using data to inform teaching practice and providing feedback on student learning growth and achievement.
  • Modeling behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values and supporting colleagues to adopt these behaviours and attitudes.
