About Our Initiative

We're looking for a dedicated Homelessness Support Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in providing assistance to women experiencing homelessness, helping them find safety, stability, and a path forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive support plans tailored to each client's unique needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with partner organisations to ensure clients have access to necessary housing, mental health, domestic violence, and other support services.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of our accommodation site, maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, delivering trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and empowering support throughout their stay.
About You

You're a compassionate and motivated individual with experience in support work or community services. You build respectful relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and bring a calm, empathetic approach to your work. Organised and adaptable, you thrive both independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to supporting women on their path to stability and independence.

  • A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, or relevant experience in the homelessness sector.
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable and at-risk populations.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal People and communities in the provision of support services.
  • Support work, preferably working with marginalised populations and individuals.
