Homelessness Support Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Homelessness Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our service, you will play a vital role in supporting women experiencing homelessness.

About the Role

Your primary focus will be on creating a safe and respectful environment for clients to find stability and independence. This involves conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualised case plans, and coordinating access to housing and other support services.

You will work closely with partner organisations to ensure a collaborative approach to addressing the complex needs of our clients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments to identify clients' unique needs and goals, and develop individualised case plans to support them.
  • Housing and Support Services: Coordinate access to housing, mental health, domestic violence, and other support services in collaboration with partner organisations.
  • Accommodation Site Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the accommodation site, ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
  • Client Relationships: Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients, providing trauma-informed, culturally safe, and empowering support throughout their stay.
What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a candidate with a bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, or relevant experience in the homelessness sector. You should have previous experience working with vulnerable and at-risk people, as well as a commitment to working with Aboriginal People and communities in the provision of support services.
