Job Title:

Pet Care Assistant

Role Overview

We are seeking a Pet Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing care and basic animal health services to animals in our shelter.

The ideal candidate will have experience in animal care, behavior, and handling skills. They will also possess the ability to listen, understand, and empathize with others.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain animal shelter facilities
  • Feed and water animals under supervision
  • Bathe and groom animals under supervision
Requirements
  • Cert II in Companion Animal Services or similar desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to verbally and visually identify and describe animals
  • Demonstrated experience in animal care, behavior & handling skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make basic sound decisions based on animal hygiene and welfare
