Oversight of curriculum design and implementation across all Science subject areas ensures alignment with the curriculum framework and the College's mission.

A coherent set of learning experiences promotes skill development, cross-disciplinary integration, and the use of diverse teaching strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support teachers through professional development, performance management and curriculum planning.
  • Monitor classroom delivery to ensure high standards of teaching, assessment and reporting.
  • Contribute to College-wide initiatives as part of the leadership team.
  • Manage the Learning Area budget and maintain a positive, collaborative culture within the team.

This senior role also involves teaching up to 0.7 FTE.

Requirements
  • Active involvement in a local Protestant Christian church.
  • TRBWA registration or ability to obtain.
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain.
  • Willingness to obtain a Department of Education Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.

The Head of Learning Area is responsible for delivering a Christ-centred, developmentally appropriate Science curriculum for Years 7–12 and alignment with the College's mission and curriculum framework.

This role includes oversight of curriculum design, teacher development, performance management, budgeting and contributing to strategic plans while maintaining a collaborative culture.
