**Toolmaker Role**

We are seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our factory team in Thomastown, Victoria.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of work experience and be skilled in manufacturing cutting dies for the cardboard packaging industry.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reading blueprints, sketches of required tools and specifications
  • Utilising computer aided design and manufacturing software to create drawings
  • Shaping parts using a combination of hand tools and computerised equipment
  • Using CNC machine tools to cut, drill and finish components
  • Grinding, filing, adjusting parts so that they fit properly together
  • Testing completed tools and dies to ensure they meet specifications
  • Maintaining and repairing tool-making machinery
  • Analysing and identifying die design issues and setting up die trials, improving repeatability of die performance

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to identify die failure and analyse reasons for failure

Benefits include:

  • Competitive salary: $55,000 - $67,000 + super
  • Salary negotiable based on experience and skills
  • Full-time (38 hours per week)
