Senior Payment Solutions Architect

We are seeking an experienced and strategic payment solutions architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and innovative payment solutions.

This senior role involves shaping the target state architecture for our Connex platform and spearheading transformative projects across card issuing, acquiring, switching, and merchant services.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive target state architecture and roadmaps for Connex, ensuring alignment with business and technology strategies.
  • Lead solution design across card schemes, real-time payments, e-commerce, and omni-channel digital experiences.
  • Architect solutions using event-driven architecture, microservices, and cloud-native technologies (Azure/AWS).
  • Integrate with major schemes and gateways (Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, Cybersource, MPGS).
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO 8583, ISO 20022, AS2805, EMV) and scheme certifications.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, influence strategic decisions, and mentor junior architects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the payments and banking domains, with at least 10 years of experience in payment solutions architecture. They should also have proven experience with Connex or similar switching platforms.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of card scheme operations, tokenization, 3D Secure, contactless payments, and digital wallets.
  • Expertise in ISO 8583, ISO 20022, AS2805, and SWIFT messaging protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), containerization, and integration technologies (Web Services, MQ).
  • Familiarity with Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, and e-commerce gateways (e.g., Cybersource, MPGS).
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
