We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional to support our services in Launceston and North East Tasmania. As a Sexual Assault Support Counsellor, you will work with victim-survivors of sexual assault, providing specialist clinical, support, and advocacy services.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a deep understanding of trauma-informed care. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality counselling services to victim-survivors of sexual assault, as well as participating in outreach services and educational program delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide trauma-informed counselling to victim-survivors of sexual assault
  • Work with non-offending family members and support systems
  • Participate in outreach services and educational program delivery
Requirements
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in counselling, social work, psychology, or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the impacts and dynamics of sexual assault and experience in trauma-informed counselling
  • Experience working with and counselling adults, young people, and/or children who have been impacted by sexual assault and violence
  • A commitment to inclusive practice and proven capacity to meet the diverse needs of clients
