Train Driver Position

We are seeking a skilled Train Driver to operate locomotives and provide operational support for our rail-based logistics operations. This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the safe and efficient movement of freight trains.


The core purpose of this role is to operate locomotives, carry out shunting at yards, depots and sidings, and conduct examinations of trains. You will also be responsible for preparing, stabilizing, turning, and assembling locomotives, as well as conducting roll-by inspections and correcting minor on-road faults.

You will work closely with other train crew members to ensure the smooth operation of our Hunter Valley coal operations. A strong commitment to safety and a willingness to follow procedures are essential requirements for this position.


About the Role

This Train Driver position offers a unique opportunity to work with highly technologically advanced locomotives and rolling stock. You will play a key role in the ongoing success of our operations, working varying shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and public holidays.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate locomotives in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Carry out shunting at yards, depots and sidings, and examine trains.
  • Prepare, stabilize, turn, and assemble locomotives.
  • Conduct roll-by inspections and correct minor on-road faults.

Requirements:
  • Certificate IV in Train Driving.
  • A basic understanding of safe-working procedures in a railway environment.
  • A strong commitment to following procedures and operating safely.
  • A willingness to work as part of a team.
