We are seeking an experienced Drafting Professional to join our engineering consulting firm in Western Australia. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to develop their career and work on exciting projects.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic drawing office team and involved in a variety of engineering projects for slurry and water pipeline transportation systems, backfill plants, and slurry dewatering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production of technical drawings/MTO/lists as well as 2D and 3D models across mechanical, process, piping, civil, and structural disciplines with limited supervision.
  • Development of drawings from engineers' sketches with minimal input.
  • Document control activities including document management and record-keeping.
  • Project management tasks related to the drawing office.
  • Adherence to company policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Clash detection of design models against as-built models or other consultants'/clients' design models.
  • Training of junior team members.
  • Ensure all activities performed at work are carried out in compliance with workplace health and safety protocols.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Work authorization: Australia (Required)
  • Formal training and/or qualification in drafting, consistent with a Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3 years experience working with CAD software.
  • 2+ Years work experience in mechanical/pipeline drafting, including 2D and 3D modelling for slurry, water, waste, mineral processing, and/or oil and gas.
  • Experience working with one or more of the following packages: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plant 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenPlant.
  • Prior work experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy skills, including MS Office package.
  • Strong skills in one or more CAD software packages covering the entire workflow from setup and 2D/3D modelling to drawing/model production.
  • Strong attention to detail/organisational skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced supervision/delegation skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced customer service acumen.
