Job Overview:
Role DescriptionThe NSW Quitline Supervisor & Counsellor plays a pivotal role in providing exceptional quit smoking and vaping support to the people of NSW. This position oversees counsellors on shift, serving as the first point of escalation for clients and counsellors alike. Key responsibilities include delivering evidence-based counselling, undertaking clinical assessments, treatment planning, referral to other services, and follow-up sessions to maintain client motivation and prevent relapse.
Key Responsibilities- Provide telephone counselling to individuals who smoke and/or vape
- Offer informational support to carers, family members, and health professionals
- Collaborate with diverse population groups and backgrounds with differing health conditions
To excel in this role, you will require:
- A completed 3-year bachelor's degree qualification in counselling, social work, or psychology
- Minimum 3 years post-clinical experience in counselling and registration with the peak body associated with your qualified discipline
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and training counsellors in a clinical service
- High-level verbal and written communication skills, including clinical documentation and client communication
This exciting opportunity comes with a range of benefits, including:
- Base salary: $112,396.00 - $116,038.00 per annum
- 12% superannuation
- 4 weeks annual leave (plus 17.5% leave loading)
- 10 days sick leave
- 40 hours per week, including monthly Allocated Day Off (ADO)
