Job Title: NSW Quitline Supervisor

Job Description:

The NSW Quitline Supervisor is a key role that oversees the delivery of telephone counselling to individuals who smoke and/or vape. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to clients, carers, family members, and health professionals.

  • Supervise and support counsellors on shift, ensuring seamless client communication and resolving any escalated issues promptly.
  • Deliver evidence-based counselling services, referring clients to relevant resources as needed.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, incorporating clinical assessments to maintain client motivation and prevent relapse.
  • Work with diverse population groups, tailoring support to meet their unique needs while maintaining a high level of service delivery.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the NSW Quitline service.

Qualifications/ Essential Requirements:

  • Hold a minimum 3-year bachelor's degree in counselling, social work, or psychology, with at least 3 years' post-clinical experience in counselling and registration eligibility with the relevant peak body.
  • Demonstrate experience mentoring and training counsellors in a clinical environment.
  • Showcase expertise in identifying and implementing quality improvement opportunities for service enhancement.
  • Exhibit exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including clinical documentation and client interactions.
  • Display the ability to remain calm under pressure and deliver services with confidence and patience.
  • Be willing to adapt to varied shifts, including weekends and outside business hours, with flexibility to backfill shifts when required.
